Taziki�s Mediterranean Caf� was founded in Birmingham, Alabama by Keith and Amy Richards. The couple had worked in the flourishing Birmingham restaurant community for years, and had a desire to go in to business on their own. Their initial inspiration for Taziki�s came to them while on a long awaited trip to Greece in 1997, where they fell in love with the culture and local
flavors of Mediterranean cuisine. They returned home and got to work creating a menu, which combined traditional Mediterranean ingredients with classic Southern dishes. A year later, they opened the doors of their first location in Birmingham, and have since expanded to more than a dozen states across the country.
