This is an exceptional opportunity to join a locally owned business rapidly expanding across the Pacific Coast and Southwest. We are not looking for an attorney to work with tenants, evictions, or rental residential properties. This position will be intimately involved with regional, commercial/retail, multi-site expansion. AZ Bar license required - CA, NV or CO license is a bonus. 

We are looking for an attorney with experience managing complex commercial real property transactions as well as non-real property equity, asset purchase and sale/leasing transactions, and corporate governance. Attorneys whose practices focus on either commercial real estate or business transactional law are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for a highly skilled Real Estate Attorney with experience acquiring and leasing retail properties.

Job Description

• Support the life-cycle of the real estate acquisition, operation and disposition or finance.
• Work with other cross-functional business teams that interconnect in real estate growth and property management / facilities efforts
• Draft and review / negotiate / revise short- and long-term leases and purchase agreements across all asset classes together with collateral agreements and diligence as needed to bring a transaction from LOI to closing or commencement 
• Identify risks and liabilities in real estate transactions and be prepared to communicate concerns with recommended solutions
• Draft, negotiate and facilitate resolution / execution of contract amendments, cross-parking / access / utility easements,
• Review, negotiate, and analyze site specific due diligence, including title insurance commitments, surveys and environmental reports, while efficiently communicating key concerns to owner in an accurate and efficient manner
• Assist with or take lead on various aspects of Real Estate closings or post-closing matters
• Assist the owner in preparing and negotiating construction contracts

Requirements

• A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited institution, licensed to practice law in Arizona and preferably California.
• 4+ years of directly relevant commercial real estate legal experience in acquisitions or leasing.  Emphasis in Commercial/Retail/Fuel/Fast Food/C-Store industries.
• Proficiency and confidence in executing and managing real estate contract negotiation, diligence and closings, in one or more asset classes
• Outstanding organizational, communication and time-management skills
• Balance between critical thinking and efficient decision-making
• Enthusiasm and energy reflective of your ability to be a self-starter and own projects, while being receptive to continued learning, growth and collaboration
• AZ Real Estate license required, CA Real Estate license or willing to obtain with a 30-60 day time frame.

 Supervisory Responsibility:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel:

• Travel is primarily locally during the business day but may require up to 50% out of state, including some overnight travel.
