Job Summary:  The service staff at The Pollard is responsible for providing front line customer service to our guests in The Pollard Dining Room, as well as the hotel property.  The Breakfast Server works primarily to serve our hotel and walk-in customers breakfast and brunch. Breakfast servers may also have the opportunity to work special events, catering events, and conferences in and around the hotel.  


Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:  

  • Sincerely welcomes guests immediately upon entering the restaurant
  • Performs opening and closing duties as directed by daily guidelines
  • Prepares restaurant for guests by cleaning tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, utensils, etc.
  • Assists team with laundry, silverware roll-ups, polishing glasses and silverware
  • Adheres to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Is knowledgeable about menu selection, menu items, and answers guest’s questions in a professional manner
  • Communicates effectively and efficiently with the kitchen staff and other FOH staff
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
  • Utilizes the current POS system to manage all orders and billing to the guest

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • High School diploma, equivalent, or currently  in school
  • Serving/Hospitality experience

Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is exposed to long periods of standing, both in the restaurant and outside patio in the summer.
