Gelson’s Markets is well known for our enticing array of freshly prepared hot foods, gourmet salads and salad bar. The Service Deli Hot Foods Chef plays an important role in promoting a quality image of the company through the department presentation and delivery of an excellent product. The Service Deli Hot Foods Chef prepares food products according to Gelson’s recipes and standards. Following all HAACP program standards is essential in the production of all prepared foods
The Gourmet Salad Chef is responsible for the safe and timely preparation and presentation of various items including salads, dressings, entrees and catering offerings - following the Gelson’s recipes. Preparation includes both salad production from scratch as well as finishing previously prepared items
The Gourmet Salad Chef must also display a clear understanding of all cooking techniques and terminologies, monitor food quality to assure finished items meets Gelson’s standards. Additionally, the Gourmet Salad Chef must possess superior knife skills. The ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers and all levels of staff within Gelson’s Markets is mandatory. The Service Deli Gourmet Salad Chef must possess strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Strong working knowledge of food service operations is required.

All entry level Service Deli positions start at part time. Pay rate will be dependent on experience.
