Title:  Distribution Manager  

FLSA:  Exempt

Reports to:  Senior Director, Supply Chain

Supervises:  N/A

Pay: $80k-$95k

 

Summary/Objective:  To support and facilitate the distribution flow of all goods from assigned and contracted suppliers to assigned and contracted distributors throughout the Boston Market Network.

Essential Functions:

 

National Distribution

  • Manages effective execution of national distribution contracts.
  • Identifies distribution partners, solicits, sends request for proposals and negotiates for presentation to Senior Director of Supply Chain.
  • Manages Key Process Indicators by distribution center.
  • Oversees relationship with distribution partners.
  • Champions projects to improve distribution efficiencies.
  • Provides operational support to field on distribution related opportunities.
  • Contributes to the supply chain team efforts by accomplishing results or projects as needed.
  • Researches and provides guidance of industry and competitive changes in restaurant industry distribution that affects the brands ability to provide cost effective methods of supply to each market.
  • Works in conjunction with operations services to maintain effective deliveries to the system.

 

Redistribution, Consolidation Centers and Final Mile Distribution

  • Manages network design of redistribution and consolidation center.
  • Negotiates and sources efficiencies within redistribution network.
  • Monitors network performance and compliance for best final mile network. 
  • Identifies and manages redistribution network for improvements and simplicity opportunities.
  • Manages direct to consumer program, works with supply chain team to identify and source suppliers. The fulfillment center of packing consumer kits and logistical contract with third party to manage consumer’s delivery.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

In the restaurant environment: 

  • Withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more.
  • Move throughout the restaurant for extended periods of time (up to 10-12 hours per day).
  • Move 50 lbs. for distances of up to 10 feet.
  • Balance and move up to 25 lbs. for distances of up to 50 feet.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Some overtime may be required.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet company goals and objectives. 
  • 4 years of experience in distribution related field to restaurant industry preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in managing complex projects
  • 4 years of experience meeting very tight deadlines in a constantly changing environment.
  • 4 years of experience using Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.   

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in related field or equivalent skills and experience.
  • 6 years of experience using purchasing/inventory management software platforms.
  • 6 years of experience utilizing centralized supply management/asset tracking operating platforms (Armada, Arrowstream, or similar).
